<p>Steering system (1), especially a steer-by-wire system has a steering angle control unit (2) for a steering angle actuator for adjusting the steering angle of a steerable wheel (4). A monitoring unit (5) compares an actual value for the actual torque of the steering angle actuator with a set value for the theoretical torque or theoretical steering angle. If a resultant difference signal exceeds a preset threshold in size, duration or frequency, then the control unit lowers and or limits the vehicle driving speed.</p> |
