The suspension device (1) is for a lamp (40) and its fixture body (2) is fixed to a ceiling. A rod (3) is rotatably connected to the fixture body around a rotary center line (7) which extends crossways to the rod longitudinal direction. A support component (17) for the lamp is fitted at a distance from the rotary center line on the rod. A component (50) for support against the ceiling is fitted on a part of the rod located on the side of the rotary center line turned away from the rotary center line. The fixture body has a plate (3) which fixes to the ceiling and to which a suspension component (5) is rotatably connected.
