1327382 Moulding filter elements FRAM EUROPE Ltd 5 Nov 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 49080/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division B1] An annular filter element is provided with integral plastics and caps each formed by pouring a quantity of plastics 4 into the annular mould cavity 3 and allowing it to set, then pouring in plastics 5 and pushing the end of the filter medium 6 into plastics 5 down to the top of plastics 4 before plastics 5 has set. When both are set plastics 4 forms a gasket which is softer than plastics 5. Plastics 4 and 5 may be different grades of polyurethane or may be polyvinylchloride and polyurethane respectively. The filter medium 6 may be a pleated paper annulus, and a perforate metal cylinder (not shown) may be incorporated inside medium 6. The element may be used for an I.C. engine air intake. |
