The beam has a tubular body (1) with an inner reinforcement (3) over its entire or part of the length, where the reinforcement is made of a natural or synthetic material with oriented cellular structure. A cellular axis is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (2) of the beam. The cellular material can be made of balsa wood and the tubular body can be made of magnesium or aluminum alloy section or sheets. An independent claim is also included for a truck box structure of a vehicle.
