<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device which can discriminate whether the uneven density in the image is caused by uneven screw pitches or not and can suppress the uneven density due to the uneven screw pitches, and also provide an uneven density discrimination method and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: This is an image forming apparatus which forms an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier based on the image forming signals by moving the image carrier in the sub-scanning direction and develops this latent image with the developer to form an image while rotating a screw to convey the developer. It has detector pairs 101aY, 101bY; 101aM, 101bM; 101aC, 101bC; 101aK, 101bK arranged in the main scanning direction with a gap different from the screw pitch to detect the density of the formed image, and an uneven density discriminator 104 to discriminate the uneven density caused by the screw based on the density changes detected by each detector pair. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
