<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader in which secrecy of a document can be secured surely after image information is read out, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the image reader. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader 2 comprising a means 10 for reading out image information of a document G, an automatic document carrying means 20 for feeding, carrying and discharging the document G, and a means 11 for storing the image information thus read out is further provided with a means 12 for cutting the document G after the image information is read out, a shielded document storage section 13 for storing the document G temporarily after the image information is read out, and a means 16 performing selection control of discharge destination depending on the processing content of the document G. The selection control means 16 discharges the document G to the document storage section 13 when a decision is made that the document G is required to be stored after the image information is read out, and discharges the document G to the cutting means 12 when a decision is made that secrecy of the document G must be secured and then cuts the document G. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
