PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying apparatus capable of suppressing toner-sticking to a discharge member 13 and uneven electrification due to gap fluctuation as compared with an electrifying apparatus which is conventionally well-known and an electrifying apparatus which is under development by this inventors while suppressing the deterioration in durability due to the peeling off of an abutting roll 12. SOLUTION: A roller having a hardness (JIS D) of≥44°is used as the abutting roller 12, and also, a member having a hardness (JIS D) of≥44°is used as the discharge member 13, and the abutting rollers 12 are separately fixed at both axial ends of a shaft member 11 or near the both axial ends in the axial direction, and the discharge member 13 is sandwiched between the abutting rolls 12, and the electrification gap is set within the extent of 15 to 75 [μm] under the environment at the temperature of 10 to 32[°C].
