PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal cable position detector in a cableway equipment capable of detecting movement of a cable supported by a cable receiving device from the regular supporting position, determining the degree of risk by the movement of the cable, and adequately performing the operation of the cableway such as stop and deceleration. SOLUTION: A distance sensor to output the distance from a cable by the analog value of the voltage or the current is provided on a cable receiving device to support the cable in a cableway equipment with a predetermined space below the cable, and the cable operation is performed according to the output from the sensor.
