PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a sewing machine which achieves the efficient sewing by enabling the alteration of the height of the presser foot at the arbitrary timing. SOLUTION: In the sewing machine 100, the sewing needle 108 and the holding frame 111 are operated based on the sewing pattern data comprising a plurality of sewing data stored in the EEPROM 72 to form the stitches corresponding to the plurality of stitch data. The machine is provided with a presser foot adjustment control means (for example, controller 1000) which adjusts the height of the presser foot 29 of the presser foot device 1 based on the presser foot data stored as a part of the sewing pattern data together with the stitch data.
