The fall guard for a drain shaft has a boom carrying a winding winch for a cable mounted on a concrete layer (8) surrounding the shaft. The boom (2) bearing is fixed or removable with respect to the a shaft insert. The concrete layer can have a railing (6) surrounding the shaft. The railing can have a removable cover.
