PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system, an interchangeable lens, and a camera main body, which allow proper light quantity adjustment control and properly display the light quantity control state and allow these control and display even in a camera system on which an interchangeable lens having a light quantity adjustment function can be mounted. SOLUTION: The camera system includes an interchangeable lens 2 having light quantity control means 5 and 6 capable of controlling the quantity of transmission light and a camera main body 1 allowing the interchangeable lens to be attached thereto and detached therefrom, and the camera system is provided with; a transmission means for transmitting information relating light quantity controlling capabilities of the light quantity control means, to the camera main body; a light quantity control instruction means 13 for transmitting a light quantity control instruction to the light quantity control means on the basis of information transmitted from the transmission means; and a display means 18 for displaying information relating to a light quantity control state obtained by the light quantity control means.
