PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for welding, that receives input voltage within a prescribed range to use an inverter by eliminating necessity for a transformer of large capacity, without providing a link manually or automatically. SOLUTION: The power supply has an input rectifier 101 for rectifying AC input to a DC signal by receiving the wide range of input voltage, a DC-voltage stage 102 converts the DC signal into desired DC voltage, an inverter 103 converts the DC signal into a second AC signal. An output transformer T3 receives the second AC signal to supply a third AC signal, having a current of the level suited for welding. The current for welding, rectified by an output inductor L4 and output rectifiers D12, D13, can be smoothed. A controller 104 supplies a control signal to the inverter and to an auxiliary power supply controller 105. The auxiliary power supply controller 105 receives the prescribed range of input voltage and can supply a control power signal to the controller 104. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
