PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner which maintains dirt sticking prevention effect on coating as long as four times and is effective for both of adhesive dust and floating dust. SOLUTION: The image scanner reads an image reading at a reading position on a first contact glass 54 to which coating processing is applied, while feeding an original by fixing a reading part 5, wherein when the first contact glass 54 reaches expiration in the life of coating durability, the coating glass can be utilized by rotating by half backwards from the front side of an operating unit.
