PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a flexible printed board having such properties as follows: first, flexible and easily bent; second, can be reduced in weight and thickness while being densified and microfabricated; and third, can be manufactured by simple processes and can be reduced in cost. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a penetration hole 5 for a through hole 4 is formed in a film base material 3 consisting of a double-sided copper clad laminate which is such that copper foils 2 are pasted on both faces of an insulating film 1 having a flexibility, and then the inner wall surface of the through hole 5 is treated for electric conduction. Next, with the whole surface of one face of the film base material being covered by a masking layer 13, the inner wall surface of the through hole 5 and the copper foil 2 on the opposite side of the film base material are applied with electric copper plating 6 and then copper is deposited. After removing the masking layer 13, a circuit pattern 7 is formed. For the masking layer 13 working as a plating resist, an alkali-soluble dry film, a PET resin film with an adhesive, etc. are used.
