PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette in which durability for falling impact or the like is improved, an opening and closing mechanism of a space part for loading a tape can be simplified more. SOLUTION: In this tape cassette 1, a shutter member 14 shielding a space part 11 for loading a tape is attached freely movably along a front wall part inner face of a cassette shell 2. Since such constitution can be abolished by using this constitution that an opening and closing mechanism of the space part 11 is attached at a cassette front face corner part being most easy to suffer falling impact or the like, it is is strong for falling impact or the like, damage of a magnetic tape 3 positioned at the space part 11 can effectively be prevent. Also, constitution is not complexed as lid structure consisting of a plurality of parts, space part opening and closing structure being simple and excellent in easiness of assembly can be provided.
