PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-absorbing and water-diffusible polyester fabric good in both water absorbability and water diffusibility and good in their sustainability as well, and also having soft touch feeling. SOLUTION: The polyester fabric is formed mainly of compound crimped yarns with sheath-core structure. In the polyester fabric, the core part of the compound crimped yarns is formed of polyester multifilament yarns each with W-shaped or cross-shaped single filament section, while the sheath part is formed of flat polyester multifilament yarns each with the length and width ratio of the single filament section being (1:3) to (1:8).
