PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece-supporting device capable of setting itself in a supporting state to support a workpiece easily and in a short period of time in advance of starting machining the workpiece. SOLUTION: A contact rod 15 guided to move in the axial direction is mounted on a first engaging part 9 of a link 8 free to revolve around a supporting shaft 7. A pre-load cylinder 19 is arranged in correspondence with a second engaging part 11, and a rod 23 to integrally move with its piston 20 is made contact with the second engaging part. The fixed supporting device 42 is arranged in correspondence with a third engaging part 13. The fixed supporting device moves in the axial direction by a working piston 59 in which its fixed contact rod 45 is arranged, makes contact with the third engaging part of the link and is fixed at a position where it moves by a collet 51 by movement of a fixed piston 53. Compressed air is introduced to a supply and emission line 25, moves the piston of the pre-load cylinder, gives pre-load to the workpiece through the contact rod, opens a sequence line 28, introduces the compressed air to the fixed supporting device and actuates it.
