PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To house a clothes-drying member after a user confirms whether or not it is a state that the clothes-drying member can be put in a housing part before housing the clothes-drying member in the housing part. SOLUTION: For the vertically movable clothes-drying apparatus, the housing part 3 is provided on a ceiling 1, a wire 6 is wound around the winding drum 5 of a motor 4 so as to be freely wound and rewound, the clothes-drying member 7 is hung from the wire 6, and the clothes-drying member 7 is housed in the housing part 3 and the clothes-drying member 7 is lowered below the ceiling 1 by the winding and rewinding of the wire 6 to the winding drum 5. The apparatus is provided with a control part 11 for controlling the motor 4 so as to automatically and temporarily stop the clothes-drying member 7 in a state that the clothes-drying member 7 is elevated to a position close to the surface of the ceiling 1 and elevate the clothes-drying member 7 to be put inside the housing part 3 by releasing an elevating operation button 10 once and pressing the elevating operation button 10 again at the time of driving the motor 4 and elevating the clothes-drying member 7 by continuously pressing the elevating operation button 10 of an operation device 9.
