摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four color liquid crystal display device capable of improving chroma of cyan by adding cyan subpixel (C), expressing color mixture having a characteristic similar to a standard light source and improving color expression or color reproduction of a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a four color display device. The four color display device comprises a plurality of pixels in a matrix, each of the pixels comprises four primary color subpixels and either one of the subpixels is located on the same column or the same row with either one of the remaining three subpixels. Therein, the four primary color subpixel is arrayed in a 1&times;3 matrix or in a 3&times;1 matrix shape and, on either one column or one row in the matrix, a first subpixel group in which the first subpixel and the second subpixel are adjacent each other laterally or vertically is disposed. In such a manner, the cyan subpixel is added, thereby, the chroma of cyan is improved and the color mixture having a characteristic similar to a standard light source can be expressed.
