PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display images appropriately and improve the operability of a device.

SOLUTION: In a personal computer which controls a television receiver which displays an image in a safety area of the whole image supplied, an image reduction part 151 reduces the image of a graphical user interface based on a reduction ratio preliminarily set according to the size of the safety area to the whole image, and a display control part 144 controls the display of the reduced image of the graphical user interface to the television receiver, the reduced image being formed by the image reduction part 151. This technology can be applied to a personal computer having a dual display function.
