PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of distributing processing corresponding to requirement from another device without concentrating on a specific processor and efficiently executing the processing while adopting a configuration wherein a plurality of processors control one port part in a channel adapter of a disk array device. SOLUTION: A CHA 11 of a controller 10 has: the port part 40 performing interface operation; and a plurality of host processor parts 50A, 50B having the host processors 51A, 51B. The plurality of processors operate in parallel to control the port part 40. When the requirement from the other device 400 is received by the port part 40, the first processor 51A takes the processing under its own charge, or communicates with a protocol part 42, transfers the requirement to the second host processor part 50B, and makes the second processor 51B take the processing under the charge thereof when making the second processor 51B take the processing under the charge thereof, on the basis of decision of a processing load state in the processor including the first processor 51A itself.
