PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent which meets both detergencey and flexibility endowment for practical purposes, solves the problem of yellowing, reduces skin irritation, and achieves easy biodegradability and low aquatic life toxicity as well. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition comprises a nonionic surface active agent (A) represented by chemical formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrocarbon group having≥80% content of an 8-10C hydrocarbon group; -(AO)- is a 3C and/or 4C oxyalkylene group; -(EO)- is a 2C oxyethylene group; and n and m are each an average addition molar number of an alkylene oxide, n is 0-5 and m is 1-50) which is derived from a saturated primary alcohol having≥50% branching type content, an anionic surface active agent (B), and a cationic surface active agent (C) at a weight ratio of the solid content of each component of (A)/[(B)+(C)]=1/1 to 20/1 and (B)/(C)=2/1 to 1/2.
