PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new acrylamide-sulfur dioxide copolymer without using an expensive reactor and requiring a high-energy cost and a complicated operation. SOLUTION: The acryloylmorpholine-sulfur dioxide copolymer containing (1) an acryloylmorpholine simple substance and (2) a sulfur dioxide simple substance is produced by radically polymerizing (1) the acryloylmorpholine simple substance and (2) the sulfur dioxide simple substance in the molar ratio of 2/1-99/1 in a polar solvent.
