PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material capable of sustainedly releasing an active substance, namely, capable of sustainedly releasing a pharmaceutical or a beautifying component. SOLUTION: This sustained-release material comprises at least one kind of hollow fiber of a material selected from titanium oxide, titanium hydroxide, a titanic acid salt, and amorphous titanium oxide, wherein the active substance is filled into the inside of the hollow fiber, so that the active substance is released from the hollow fiber to the outside by external stimulation.
