PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm device of a chair allowing the number of parts to be less and improving easiness of assembly and user-friendliness for arms. SOLUTION: The arm device of the chair is provided with a rising piece 8 having a plurality of engaging holes 7 on the outer periphery of an armrest base 2 and a brim 10 extending outward from the bottom and having a recessed groove 9 on the upper face. A downward-facing piece 12 externally fitted to the rising piece 8 and protrusively provided with an engaging pawl 11 on the inner peripheral face for engaging with the engaging hole 7 is connected with the outer peripheral end of a core member 5. A surface cover member 6 covers the outer peripheral face and the lower end of the piece 12. The lower end of the cover member 6 under the piece 12 fits into the groove 9 of the brim 10.
