<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting method of a compact windmill for easily starting the windmill and generating power. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for starting a compact wind power generator, an AC output from a multiple winding permanent magnet power generator driven by the windmill and comprising windings having the various numbers of turns with different induced voltages is connected to the winding having the maximum number of turns in the multiple winding permanent magnet power generator at a reactor, the AC side of a PWM converter is connected to a connection between the reactor and a rectifier through a first switch in parallel, the DC side of the PWM converter is connected to DC terminals of the compact wind power generator through a second switch in parallel, the PWM converter outputs an AC voltage having a frequency and a voltage temporally increased along a S shape curve for a predetermined period in response to an external start instruction, and the first and second switches are closed while the PWM converter operates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
