PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase cooling efficiency of a light source, in a state with where the user will not feel inconvenience. SOLUTION: The display apparatus comprises a display body section 3, having a display panel 28 for displaying an image attached to a front side of a case 5, light sources 30a, 30a, ... for irradiating the display panel with light as backlight and a reflector 31 for reflecting the emitted light from the light sources to the display panel; and a frame 2, having heat sinks 32 and 32 with a plurality of fins 32b and 32b for cooling the light sources, a top section 2a positioned above the upper face section and arranged so that at least the upper section 12 and 19 and left and right side sections 13 and 20 are covered from the outside, and a pair of side plate sections 2b and 2b positioned at each side of the left and right side sections. Heat dissipation holes, for dissipating at least heat transmitted from the light sources to the heat sinks on the upper section of the case, are made, and a clearance gap 45 for dissipating the heat between the top section of the frame and the upper section of the case is formed.
