PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater detection device capable of measuring information of fish amount of a shoal with small dispersion without depending on the experience of a fisherman. SOLUTION: The underwater detection device is composed of: the transmitter 3 for transmitting the ultrasonic signal into underwater to the predetermined direction from the hull 7; the receiving part 4 for receiving the reflected echo of the transmitted ultrasonic signal from the shoal of fish FS; and the signal processing part 5 for processing the signal of the receiving beam. The fish amount of the shoal of fish FS can be obtained by integrating in the signal processing part 5 the sound intensity P<SB>M</SB><SP>2</SP>in terms of input obtained from receiving beam in 3D directions.
