PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce generation of fluid force which is a fault of a taper notch while sufficiently utilizing advantages of the taper notch. SOLUTION: An annular groove 2 is formed on a spool 1, the taper notch 3 is formed on a side wall of the annular groove 2, and a recessed part 4 for flow force reduction is formed on a taper face 3a of the taper notch 3. By forming the recessed part 4 for fluid force reduction, to provide a flow rate in 90% opening, a difference of pilot pressures between a characteristic line (a) of a low pilot pressure, and a characteristic line b of a high pilot pressure becomes small.
