PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out miniaturization and lightening, to easily and quickly tension a rope in a state with almost no damage to the rope, and to carry out operation without abutting a tool such as a wrench on a fixing member locking a hook. SOLUTION: In the rope tensioning device, a rope insertion hole for drawing out the rope 1 to the outside from a lead-out hole 2J formed in lateral side parts positioned on both horizontal width sides of a rotating member 2 via a lead-in hole 2H formed in a particular portion of an outer circumference part is provided in the rotating member 2, a rotating member 6 for operation provided with a tooth part 6G meshing with a tooth part 2G provided on the rotating member 2 for rotating the rotating member 2 is provided in the body in a portion positioned in an opposite side of the rotating member 2 to the hook 5, and a tool attachment part 7S is provided in an end of a rotary shaft 7 of the rotating member 6 for operation such that manual rotating operation of the rotating member 6 for operation can be carried out from the outside by a tool.
