PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire for an aircraft, capable of suppressing the growth of external damage while ensuring external wound resistance to a belt layer. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire for an aircraft, the belt layer 7 is disposed on a carcass layer 4 outer peripheral side of a tread portion 1. A strip 9 coating a reinforcing cord f with rubber r is extended in a flat coil shape while partially superimposed on the outer peripheral side of the belt layer 7, and a belt protecting layer 8 spirally wound is disposed in a tire circumferential direction.
