<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool management means and management method that can streamline the management of tool carrying into/out of a management area and quickly notify wrong carrying or leaving of a tool. <P>SOLUTION: RFID tag readers 5 are installed in doorways to areas of a facility having one or more areas to read data from RFID tags on tools passing the doorways and send them to a tool management apparatus 1 via a network 3. Data on a work plan are entered from a terminal device 2. The tool management apparatus 1 compares the present tool location data collected in real time from the RFID tag readers 5 with the work plan data to detect mismatch data.
