PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate interpolation image data considered as an image with successful image quality. SOLUTION: When image data with specified size is segmented from image data of a 4:2:2 format, odd number segmentation for segmenting the image data by disregarding the minimum constitutional unit of the 4:2:2 format is detected. When the odd number segmentation is detected, the interpolation image data are generated by reading image data with the size equal to or larger than the specified size from a memory 102 to a data buffer 61 and performing an interpolation arithmetic processing of the image data from image data buffered to the data buffer 61 by an interpolation functional block 62 so as to be the minimum constitutional unit of the 4:2:2 format at the segmentation edge.
