PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb heater capable of materializing the following: firstly, contact failure is prevented to extend its lifetime and to enhance safety and durability, secondly, some processes are eliminated to reduce its cost and to enhance productivity, and thirdly, one with a smaller cell size can be manufactured. SOLUTION: In this honeycomb heater 10, a heater element 4 having a honeycomb structure is housed between a center electrode rod and an outer cylindrical electrode 3. The heater element 4 is formed by winding a corrugated plate 5 and a flat plate 6 which are made of beltlike conductive foil in a multilayer, and an insulating coat 8 is interposed between the layers 7. In the outermost layer 7' of the heater element 4, the insulating coat 8 is positioned on its outside, the winding end part 11 of the corrugated plate 5 or the flat plate 6 are lengthily set and exposed from the end 12 of the insulating coat 8. The outer cylindrical electrode 3 is brazed and bonded to the exposed corrugated plate 5 or the flat plate 6 in the winding end part 11 of the heater element 4 by using a brazing filler material A.
