PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel oxygen-containing organoaluminum compound which can be used at high temperatures, an olefin polymerization catalyst using the same, and a method for producing a polyolefin using this catalyst. SOLUTION: The catalyst uses a combination of an oxygen-containing organoaluminum compound obtained by reacting a trialkylaluminum with water and a solid catalyst component containing magnesium, titanium, and a halogen, and the method for efficiently polymerizing an olefin comprises using the catalyst at high temperatures.
