PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording-head driving apparatus capable of preventing the printing speed of a recording head constituted by arranging a plurality of ejector groups in a partially overlapping state from being lowered due to a joint of the ejector groups, and a recording head driving method. SOLUTION: Unit structures are each provided with a plurality of driving ICs 16 (16A1, 16B1, 16A2,...) for driving, according to print data inputted, the ejector groups arranged in the corresponding unit structures. The print data for driving the injector groups 34 arranged in the corresponding unit structures is inputted to the driving ICs in the state that the print data for driving the ejector groups 34 arranged in the corresponding unit structures includes only print data for driving the injectors included in a region where the ejector groups 34 arranged in the unit structures neighboring the above unit structures are overlapped with each other.
