PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which enables, regardless of its compact structure, an easy access to control circuitry for maintenance or other purposes of the same kind. SOLUTION: The printer has a bridge-like frame structure 10 with two upright members 12 and a cross-member 14, and functional components mounted to the frame structure 10 and connected to control circuit 38. The control circuitry is accommodated in a central control box that has a top access opening 31 and is pivotally mounted between the upright members 12 and underneath the cross-member 14 so as to be tiltable into a position exposing the access opening.
