PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stock paper for a paper cup excellent in waterproof property, regenerating property and anti-blocking property without performing polyethylene lamination, and excellent in processing aptitude for the paper cup, especially for top-curling aptitude. SOLUTION: This stock paper for the paper cup, installed with a synthetic resin film layer having waterproof property on at least one side surface of its paper substrate is provided by using the synthetic resin having≥10 and <160% tensile elongation at break measured in accordance with JIS K 7127 and setting≥10 and≤30 g/m<SP>2</SP>coated amount of the synthetic resin film layer for one side surface.
