PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cemented carbide exhibiting excellent performance when used as an impact resisting tool such as a mining and civil engineering work tool, a digging tool for oil field development, a cold or warm forging tool and a rolling roll. SOLUTION: In a cemented carbide composed of a hard phase essentially composed of WC by 70 to 97 wt.% and a bonding phase essentially composed of Co and/or Ni by 3 to 30 wt.%, the cemented carbide is constituted of a first region composed of a first hard phase essentially composed of WC by 88 to 97 wt.% and a first bonding phase essentially composed of Co and/or Ni by 3 to 12 wt.%, and a second region composed of a second hard phase essentially composed of WC by 20 to 30 wt.% and a second bonding phase essentially composed of Co and/or Ni by 70 to 80 wt.%, and in which the second region surrounds the first region. Thus, the cemented carbide has excellent wear resistance and impact resistance, and exhibits excellent performance as a impact resisting tool. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
