HIGHLY WHITE-COLORED CHEMICAL PULP AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly white-colored chemical pulp improved in its discoloration property widely even having≥88% ISO whiteness. SOLUTION: This highly white-colored chemical pulp having≥88% ISO whiteness and≤1.0% degree of decrease of whiteness in the following discoloration test is produced by treating bleached pulp with ultraviolet light. [The test method is provided by preparing a hand made paper in accordance with JIS P 8209 and irradiating the paper with a xenon lamp of 67 W/m2light volume for 30 min under an environment of 30°C in accordance with method B (the method by using a xenon arc lamp type light fastness test device) of J. TAPPI No.21, paper and cardboard-degree of discoloration testing method and measuring the ISO whiteness to obtain the degree of decrease of the ISO whiteness from that of before the treatment].
