The method is for the correcting of the injection characteristic of at least one injector for the injecting of fuel into at least one cylinder of an internal combustion engine, whereby the information characterizing the injection is altered on the basis of a cylinder-specific adjusting value. The cylinder-specific adjusting value is the signal of a volume compensating control which regulates cylinder-individual volume tolerances. The altering of the information takes place through the cylinder-specific adjusting value in predeterminable operating states/environmental state of the engine.
