The core has a cleaning cloth (6) that is in the form of a cloth sleeve arranged on the core and moistened with cleaning fluid, where a protective cover is arranged between the core and the cloth sleeve. The protective cover is made up of a material that repels with the cleaning fluid. The core consists of a hydrophilic material and designed as a hollow profile cylinder. The cover has overlapping regions at the front side of the core.
