PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an "antenna diversity type receiver" reducing a waste in an antenna diversity type. SOLUTION: An RDS radio receiver has reception-state detectors 34 and 36 having two reception systems connected to different antennas 10 and 12 respectively, conducting first reception operations outputting the contents of received broadcast waves, and detecting the generation of multipaths in the two reception systems. The RSD radio receiver further has: a multipath processor 38 conducting a processing eliminating the effects of the multipaths on the basis of a plurality of signals received by using the two reception systems; and a control unit 50 conducting the reception operations outputting broadcasting contents by using both two reception systems, when the multipaths are generated, while conducting the reception operations of broadcasting-content outputs by using one reception system when the multipaths are not generated and controlling the reception operations other than that by using the other reception systems.
