PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment by which communication only by voice and communication by voice and video are switched during communication according to display performance even at a hands free state. SOLUTION: The communication equipment has a video data transmitting/receiving means 214, a voice data transmitting/receiving means 215, display means 110 to 113 attachably/detachably provided on the equipment, a display performance discrimination means 21 for discriminating the display performance of the display means, an exchange detection means 27 for detecting exchange of the display means during a phone call, a discrimination control means 212 for making the display performance discrimination means discriminate whether or not the exchanged display part can display video data when the exchange of the display means is detected and a permission means 213 for permitting transmission/reception of the video data by the video data transmitting/receiving means when it is discriminated that the exchanged display part has the display performance enough to display the video data.
