PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device of a vehicle capable of moving the vehicle to a desired target position without requiring the skill of a driver by introducing such an arrangement that the timing of releasing the hold of a steering angle when the vehicle is moved to the target position can be transmitted to the driver accurately and certainly. SOLUTION: The steering control device works upon assumption of the driving situation such that the driver moves the vehicle in a specified position toward the target position while he/she holds a steering mechanism at a constant steering angle, and is equipped with a position information sensing means 32 to sense the moving position information of the vehicle, a timing determining means 33 to determine timing to conduct turn-back on the basis of the position information sensed by the sensing means 32, an electric motor 4 to drive the steering mechanism, and a control means 31 to control the motor 4. The motor 4 is operated when the timing determining means 33 determines the turn-back timing, and the driver is informed of the turn-back timing by the steering mechanism.
