PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether information transmission or reception is to be conducted, in an information center and a map display device, and according to the decision result, to transmit or receive the information. SOLUTION: The map indicating/device (15) which receives and displays a map data from the information center (10) comprises a storage means of storing map data; a transmission means of transmitting a destination to the information center; a reception means of receiving a retrieved route, based on the destination transmitted from the information center; a determination means of determining whether there is any new constructed road, included in the received route by comparison a road contained in the received route, with a road of the map data stored in the storage means.
