PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the sufficient cooling effect, even when used together with a water pump of small capacity, by forming a shape having the small actual flow passage cross-sectional area and the large heat radiating area of a cooling water passage 15 for constituting a water jacket 14 of a cylinder head 10 formed by casting with a core. SOLUTION: A filling material 30 having physical properties of reducing the volume in cooling more than melting, is filled in a melting state in the cooling water passage 15 for constituting the water jacket 14 of the cylinder head 10 after casting. The cylinder head 10 of its state is placed on a base 20 in an attitude in which a surface Pa being the opposite side of an engine combustion chamber becomes a lower position when installed in a cylinder, and the filling material 30 is cooled and contracted. Thus, a space 16 having the small cross-sectional area for flowing cooling water, having the large heat radiating area and circulating the cooling water, is formed between a solidified filling material layer 30a and a wall surface on the engine combustion chamber side of the cooling water passage 15.
