PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silicone-coated activated carbon achieving a remarkably improved result when trihalomethanes in water, particularly, in flowing water (for example, city water) are removed. SOLUTION: This silicone-coated activated carbon is obtained by coating the surface of activated carbon with one or more compounds selected from specified cyclic silicone compounds (for example, 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-cyclotetrasiloxane) in the ratio of 10-80 mass% to activated carbon and cleaning the silicone-coated activated carbon by a lower alcohol.
