PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasteful time and cost when determining optimum crushing conditions in shifting to a large-scaled ball medium type crusher for mass production. SOLUTION: In the subject estimation method for typical particle size of ceramic powder, the typical particle size of ceramic powder after crushing is measured; cumulative friction time in a small-scaled ball medium type crusher is calculated by the distinct element method; critical crushing friction energy (E<SB>fo</SB>) is found from a relative factor between the typical particle size and cumulative friction time; a cumulative friction time per unit time of the critical crushing friction energy (E<SB>fo</SB>) of the large-scaled ball crusher is calculated; and the typical particle size of the large-scaled ball medium type crusher is estimated from a relation between the cumulative friction time and typical particle size.
