The present invention relates to a teat for feeding liquid food to mammalian infants and in particular to human babies and infants. Teats in general are well known and are normally sealingly mounted on a bottle of liquid feed, such as milk. The present invention provides a teat for a mammalian infant comprising a securing flange, an inner wall defining an inner chamber, depending from said flange, an outer wall extending from said flange and surrounding the inner chamber for part of its length, to define an outer chamber between the inner and outer walls, said inner chamber having a distal end portion extending beyond said outer chamber, for insertion in use into the infant's mouth, wherein both the inner and outer walls are flexible such that they deform longitudinally and laterally relative to the longitudinal axis of the teat on sucking by an infant. |
